Referee Collum in charge of final Celtic game

WILLIE Collum will be the referee for Celtic’s final home game of the season against Dundee United on Sunday.

The Scottish Premiership champions will receive the trophy after signing off the 2013-14 campaign against the Tangerines at Celtic Park.

Martin Cryans and Frank Connor are the assistant referees while David Somers has been assigned fourth official duties.

35-year-old Collum will oversee his seventh game in all competitions involving the Hoops this season.

The Fifa official took charge of Celtic’s final match last term, their 3-0 win over Hibernian in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park, and their first this campaign against Ross County on the opening day.

Collum, who has received five Champions League appointments this season, has overseen 42 matches in all competitions, brandishing 119 yellows and 15 red cards whilst awarding 12 penalties.

The Bhoys, who have lost just once in the league, need one more goal to reach 100 for the season but cannot break the 100-point barrier following Wednesday's 3-3 draw with St Johnstone.

Scottish Cup finalists Dundee United can no longer qualify for Europe through their league position after their midweek defeat by Aberdeen.

The season-closing encounter will be shown live on Sky Sports 2 on Sunday, 11 May, with kick-off from Parkhead at 12:15 BST.
