SAMIR Nasri has signed a new five-year deal with Manchester City, keeping him at the club until July 2019.

The 27-year-old, who was left out of France's 2014 World Cup squad, scored seven Premier League goals last season as he helped City regain their Premier League crown.

"I'm really happy to have signed this contract and to have committed my future with City," Nasri said in a statement on the club's website.

"It's exactly what I wanted when I joined this club and I am very happy that I found an agreement and I hope that we continue to win titles.

"I'm 27 now and if you listen to some of the best managers in the game, they say that a midfield player's best years are between 27 and 30 so I hope that I will give my best years to City."

Nasri arrived at the Etihad Stadium for £25 million from Arsenal in 2011 and has since scored 22 times in 129 appearances, including in May's title-clincher against West Ham and a sublime effort in the Capital One Cup final against Sunderland in March.

Samir Nasri played 91 key passes in the Premier League last season (more than any other player) while only Eden Hazard (92) created more chances than Nasri's 89 in the division.
