MAROUANE Chamakh has signed a new two-year contract extension at Crystal Palace.
The Morocco international striker moved to Selhurst Park on a one-year deal last summer after ending his torrid three-year stay at Arsenal.
He became a regular starter, scoring six Premier League goals last term as the Eagles comfortably ensured their top-flight status.
The 30-year-old will now join the rest of the Palace squad on their pre-season tour of Austria.
Chamakh was one of 16 players signed by Ian Holloway after the South London club earned promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
He scored on his second appearance in a 2-1 defeat by Stoke in August but struggled to find his form which coincided with Palace languishing in the relegation zone.
But after Tony Pulis took over as manager in November, Chamakh was revitalised in a slightly different role behind the main striker.
He scored in three consecutive games during December as the former Bordeaux striker quickly became a fans' favourite at Selhurst Park.
After Palace finished 11th and Pulis picked up the manager of the year award, Chamakh expressed his desire to stay with the Eagles - and now his wish has been granted.
