Motherwell face Europa Lge trip to Iceland

MOTHERWELL will take on Stjarnan in the Europa League second qualifying round after the Icelandic outfit cruised past Bangor.

Stjarnan, leading 4-0 from the first leg, defeated the Welsh side 4-0 at the Book People Stadium to complete a resounding 8-0 aggregate win.

Stuart McCall's Steelmen enter at the second stage of qualifying after their second-placed finish in the Scottish Premiership last term.

It is the first time they will face Icelandic opposition since beating Breidablik 2-0 during their 2010/11 Europa League campaign.

Stjarnan sit second in the Icelandic Urvalsdeild, two points behind leaders FH Hafnarfjordur, and are unbeaten domestically after ten games as they chase their first ever league title.

'Well fell at the first hurdle in the Europa League last term, losing 3-0 on aggregate to Russian side Kuban Krasnodar in the third qualifying round.

The ties will be played on Thursday 17 and 24 July with the first leg to be staged at Fir Park.
