SHEFFIELD Wednesday have signed prolific striker Stevie May from St Johnstone on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The Saints academy product has scored 67 goals in 118 career appearances, including loan spells at Alloa Athletic and Hamilton Academical.
The 21-year-old had been in lengthy discussions with newly-promoted English Championship side Rotherham United but has opted to move to Hillsborough for a fee in the region of £800,000.
May enjoyed a magnificent breakthrough campaign at McDiarmid Park, scoring 27 goals in all competitions.
The Scottish Premiership side offered him a new and improved deal at the end of last season, the terms of which were kept under wraps, but it was declined.
May began his career with the Saints and made a goal-scoring senior debut when he stepped off the bench aged just 16.
He joined Alloa Athletic on loan in 2011 to earn some first-team experience and scored almost a goal a game, finishing with 19 from 22 appearances.
The Scotland Under-21 forward joined Hamilton Academicals on loan, scored 25 goals in 33 games, and was named the SFL Phenomenal Young Player of the Season.
He returned to Perthshire for the start of 2013/14 and played a vital part in a successful season under boss Tommy Wright.
May's semi-final brace against Aberdeen guided Saints to the first ever major cup final of their 130 year history in the Scottish Cup and also starred in the 2-0 victory over Dundee United.
His goal in Saints' Europa League draw with Slovakian side Spartak Trnava came in what proved to be his final appearance for the club.
May underwent a medical south of the border on Saturday with the Owls after Saints chairman Steve Brown allowed him to choose which club he preferred to join.
He will wear the number seven shirt for the Yorkshire outfit and will help to replace Michail Antonio after the forward's £1.5 million departure to Nottingham Forest.
