NORWICH defender Martin Olsson has been charged by the Football Association for an incident during Sunday's 1-0 defeat by Wolves.
The Swedish international appeared to make physical contact with referee Simon Hooper, placing a hand on the official, when he was sent off.
Olsson seemed to kick a water bottle as he left the field after receiving a second booking on the hour mark of the Canaries' opening Championship game.
His behaviour is also under review and the 26-year-old has until 18:00 BST on Thursday to respond to the charge.
"It is alleged that Olsson's action in making physical contact with the referee immediately prior to being shown a red card and for his behaviour as he left the field of play amounted to improper conduct, which occurred outside the jurisdiction of the match officials," an FA statement read.
The former Blackburn left-back will miss Saturday's game against Watford at Carrow Road but could face a lengthier ban if found guilty.
"He's apologised to us. He's a top professional and he works his socks off for the team, so he's disappointed, as we all are, with the result," said Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson.
Dave Edwards scored the only goal as Wolves made a winning start to the new season at Molineux.
