BOBBY Madden will take charge of Saturday's Scottish Premiership encounter between Inverness and Celtic.

The 35-year-old will oversee proceedings as the champions make the trip to the Highlands to face early league leaders Caley Thistle in the lunchtime kick-off.

He will be assisted by linesmen Graham Chambers and Stuart Stevenson while Calum Murray will be the fourth official.

Madden has already officiated three domestic games this season in three different competitions, brandishing nine yellow cards.

His only Scottish top-flight game so far came last weekend in newly-promoted Hamilton's 1-0 win over St Johnstone.

He was also in the middle for Hibernian's Scottish Championship opener against Livingston and the League Cup first round tie between Airdrieonians and Alloa Athletic.

Fifa-listed whistler Madden, who has been an SPL Category One official since 2008, had a busy campaign in 2013-14 in which he refereed 42 matches in all competitions.

His appointments included a Scottish League Cup semi-final, Scottish Cup semi, two Edinburgh derbies, Europa League ties and World Cup qualifiers as well as 24 Scottish Premiership games.

His final match was the first leg of the Premiership play-off as Hibernian beat Hamilton 2-0 at New Douglas Park on 21 May.

Overall, Madden brandished 113 yellows and seven red cards - five of which came during a six-game spell across December and January - whilst awarding seven penalties.

John Hughes's Inverness have taken seven points from a possible nine so far after wins over Hamilton and Motherwell, either side of a draw against Dundee.

The Hoops have a 100% league record under new boss Ronny Deila after a 3-0 victory over St Johnstone in their opening game and a 6-1 thrashing of Dundee United last weekend.

The 12:30 BST kick-off will be screened live on BT Sport 2 - a day earlier than previously scheduled because of Celtic's Champions League play-off involvement.
